Cyclone merging (movie)

The ’Laboratoire des écoulements géophysiques et industriels de Grenoble (LEGI) owns a unique equipment, the largest rotating platform for fluid mechanics in the world, 13 meters in diameter. This unique tool reproduces the effect of the Coriolis force on atmospheric and oceanic flows, major events in the life of our planet. The reproduction in laboratory of many natural phenomena is thus possible, as, for example, the interaction between two cyclones.

With Henri Didelle (research engineer), Benjamin Cariteau (post-doctoral) and Jan-Bert Flor (CNRS researcher).
GénériqueAuteur director Marcel Dalaise (CNRS Images). Production: CNRS. Diffuser: CNRS Images.
